infidelity, breakup and betrayal trauma recovery

Betrayal can cause our entire world to feel like it is imploding. Often the moment of discovery profoundly alters everything we believe to be true about our relationship, our partner, ourselves and the world around us. It has the power to destroy our happiest memories. Our plans and dreams shatter into a million uncertain fragments.  The agony, confusion, fear, and hopelessness can be debilitating.

But even though it might feel like your suffering will never end, I need you to know that happiness, peace, freedom and trust in others and yourself is within reach. And you are not alone.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • My fee is $160 CAD per 50 minute session.

  • It is possible your insurance will reimburse you for my services. Please be aware that my title is Registered Therapeutic Counsellor. Plans that cover me will typically refer to me as a “counsellor” or “clinical counsellor.” I am not a Psychologist or Social Worker. If you are relying on benefits to cover my services, it is very important you check with them first to confirm that they will.

  • If you are not covered by insurance and finances are a concern, I may be able to offer a sliding scale rate. Please feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss!

  • I am so excited to announce that Lost & Found has just welcomed a new associate therapist to the team to provide couples counselling! A therapist bio for Tammy will be posted on the website soon, but in the meantime if you are interested in couples counselling, please feel free to reach out to me and I will help you get connected.

  • Not at all! Betrayal trauma is my niche, however there are very often a myriad of things people want to work on. Common themes I often explore include: family of origin, trust issues, self-esteem, sense of identity, grief & loss, fear of conflict, anxiety, depression, lack of support and boundary setting. There is no limit to the topics we can discuss in therapy, however if something is outside of my scope of practice I will let you know and we can discuss a referral to an appropriate support.

  • At this time I do not. I like to be very transparent with my clients that where I call home frequently changes due to my love for travel and therefore I only offer virtual sessions.

  • This is entirely up to you! How regularly we schedule sessions will depend on your availability, finances, and goals. Many people choose to attend sessions every 2 weeks, but others come weekly or monthly! We will work together to decide what is best for you.

  • My working days and hours may vary depending on the timezone I am in. That being said, I will always prioritize offering evening appointments (based on Mountain Time) as they tend to work best for most people. Currently I am working Monday-Thursday until 9:30 pm MT. If you are looking for particular time outside of that though I encourage you to reach out and ask as I may be able to be flexible!
