5 day immersive betrayal trauma retreat in the lush oasis of Guatemala

Rewild & Rewrite

April 29th - May 4th

After my own experiences with betrayal and heartbreak, I told myself a lot of stories.

The stories of why this happened:
Because I’m not pretty enough
Because I’m boring
Because I nag too much
Because I didn’t offer enough of myself

I told myself stories about my life:
That I would be alone forever
That I had no purpose
That I was unwanted
That the good years were behind me
That I would never feel joy
That I was incapable

One day I read a quote that said   when something goes wrong in your life, just yell β€œPLOT TWIST!” and move on

While simply moving on isn’t so easy when it comes to betrayal and loss, the idea of seeing my life as a story was intriguing to me. I envisioned myself as the main character who just experienced something life altering. And I saw that as also the author, I had choices that could help me shape this story. So, I set out on a mission to change the narrative I held about who I was and where my life was going to go.

This is just the Cole’s Notes of course. It wasn’t just one choice. It was and continues to be a series of choices, new plot twists, long roads, unfinished maps and a wild adventure.

As the author of my own life, every day I am faced with rewriting the story I tell myself about who I am and where I’ll go next.

Let’s rewrite together.

The Intention:

  • Come into Connection: Vulnerability creates connection. Connection is essential to healing. In sharing our experiences of loss and hope we’ll walk forward together knowing we aren’t alone.

  • Daily Group Coaching: Step into the unknown in a safe environment. Cry. Play. Rest. Dance. Laugh. Connect. Our retreat offers a variety of activities designed to hold space for your hurts and discover new possibilities.

Mind-Body Wellness: Restore balance and inner peace through daily yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices.

  • Nature Therapy: Immerse yourself in the healing embrace of nature through guided hikes and relaxation in our lush gardens.

  • Nourishing Cuisine: Savor delicious, healthy meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients, fueling your body and soul.

The Healing Experience

What do you do when your world falls apart?

You build a new one.

Post-traumatic growth is the idea that we can experience personal transformation in the wake of trauma. Joseph Campbell, an American mythologist, called this the hero’s journey.

Surrounded by the breathtaking and untamed beauty of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, we’ll join together on a hero’s journey of coming home to our Self.

A journey of rewilding.

Using a blend of expert led coaching groups, supportive community, and transformative experiences we’ll break free of the heart wrenching and heavy stories that have been told to us, by ourselves and others and rediscover our power, joy, freedom and peace while creating a new vision for the future.

meet the leading team

Lindsay Haverslew (she/her)

β€œI deeply believe in the healing power of being able to tell our story. I also believe that in order for our storytelling to BE healing, there are certain necessary conditions that must be met, like being seen, heard, valued and safe, which is one hundred percent my mission when working with the lovely folks who choose to enter my virtual therapy space.”

Katlin Kelly (she, her)

β€œI am a gal who values connection and authenticity whether it comes from a catch up (with good coffee), sharing a yoga room full of mats, or a safe therapy space. My passion is found in creating an atmosphere to share our experiences of living this life; the joy, sorrow, pain, highlights and everything in between. You deserve a place to be seen and heard.”

Hayley Sarjeant (she, her)

β€œI have been where you are, and felt the earth-shattering grief, shame and sadness that can accompany betrayal, infidelity and relationship breakdown. Having a safe space to work through these complicated feelings is a crucial step in healing and we can work together to heal these wounds, allowing you to feel more like yourself again.”

FAQ’s

  • After taking this into consideration and putting a lot of thought into it, it is most important to me to create an inclusive environment for healing which originally meant it was going to be a retreat space for all genders. However, due to demand, this retreat is for women and those who identify as women. For men who would like to attend, we are planning another retreat just for you in May of 2025. • No they are not.

We recommend flying into Guatemala City a day before the retreat start date and then getting a shuttle directly to the city of Antigua. A hotel in Antigua would not be included but we will do our best to all arrange to stay at the same hotel so we can have a pre-retreat meet & greet.

We will chat more about the transportation details in our pre-retreat zoom meeting. The shuttles to the retreat location MAY be included if you are able to arrive within a specific travel window so we can all travel together.

But just so you have all the information, this is how you would get to the retreat location:

From Antigua you can take a shuttle to the lakeside town of Panajachel which may take 2.5-3 hours and then a boat can be taken across the lake to our little oasis Casa Paloma.
